Partner Outreach and Communications Toolkit Check-In

School-Based Communications Outreach Strategies

Education and early education professionals are trusted partners in the community who are in a unique position to help the children and families in their schools retain their health insurance coverage. You can help spread the word about Maryland Medicaid and Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) renewals. Outreach strategies may include:

  • Share information during calls and meetings with parents/caregivers
  • Distribute materials during back-to-school nights and other school events
  • Send students home with flyers
  • Display flyers in the school office, hallways, and sports facilities
  • Send text messages to your school community
  • Share a short message during school announcements
  • Incorporate messaging into other communications such as vaccination updates
  • Post updates on social media

Community Influencers

Many Marylanders have healthcare coverage through Maryland Medicaid and will be impacted by the return of annual Medicaid renewals. We are asking partners, advocates, providers, and friends to help spread the word so Marylanders can stay informed. You can help by:

  • Directing individuals to our website: MarylandHealthConnection.gov/CheckIn
  • Emailing, posting, or handing out the materials below
  • Reminding individuals to update their contact information online or by phone at 855-642-8572.

For more information, you can access the Medicaid Check Communications Check-In toolkit for resources including fliers, logos and logo usage guidelines with examples to help providers, advocates and partners keep Maryland Medicaid participants informed about the redetermination efforts.
