Baltimore, MD (July 23, 2012)–The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) has announced the appointment of two new health officers for Prince George’s and Calvert counties.
Pamela B. Creekmur is the new health officer for Prince George’s County, where she has served as acting health officer for the past 10 months. She was officially sworn in July 10 and has been a leader in the community working with DHMH on many collaborative projects.
Dr. Laurence Polsky is the new health officer for Calvert County starting Aug. 8. He has been in private OB/GYN practice in St. Mary’s County for a number of years. He also is chairman of the Community Health Advisory Committee for St. Mary’s County,
“We are delighted that Ms. Creekmur and Dr. Polsky have accepted their positions as leaders for these two Maryland county health departments,” said Dr. Joshua M. Sharfstein, DHMH Secretary. “We look forward to working with them to protect the health and welfare of their communities.”
