Today's Developments for H1N1 Virus in Maryland - Case Update

Today is

Baltimore (May 6, 2009) -- The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene reports 3 NEW "probable" cases of the H1N1 Flu Virus in Maryland. Cases will not be further identified to protect confidentiality. 

New ‘PROBABLE’ cases:

  • 2 youth from Prince George's County
  • 1 youth from Anne Arundel County

All are recovering at home - none hospitalized.  

Maryland currently has 18 PROBABLE CASES and 4 CONFIRMED CASES of H1N1 flu.  

PROBABLE CASES by county

  • Anne Arundel County – 5*
  • Baltimore County – 1 *
  • Charles County - 1
  • Harford County - 1
  • Montgomery County - 3
  • Prince Georges County – 7

*Includes one probable case tested by CDC but not lab confirmed. 

The number of CONFIRMED CASES of H1N1 Flu by county are: 

  • Anne Arundel County - 1
  • Baltimore County - 3
