REGISTERED NURSE MANAGER, PSYCHIATRIC (4291) SD

SALARY: $49,638 - $79,693 (Grade 19)

DESCRIPTION: Provides assessment and intervention regarding staffing needs in accordance with established facility standards, assuring that staffing is adequate for the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu daily. Responds, directs, monitors others for appropriate interactions with patients using therapeutic communication skills; to help them learn, and demonstrate appropriate social skills; and to provide support in the milieu at community meetings, group meetings and activities as needed. Days Rotating and Evening Shifts Open.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university. EXPERIENCE: Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include two years Psychiatric Nursing and one year in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity.
LICENSE: Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215. A copy of current license MUST accompany application.
NOTES:
1. A Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the option for which application is made may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
2. Six years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include three years in a supervisory, administrative or teaching capacity in Psychiatric Nursing may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
3. After an offer of employment, applicants may be given a medical examination to certify the ability to perform essential job functions.
