SALARY: $23,281 - $37,362 (Grade 18) (Part Time 50%)

DESCRIPTION: This position manages the Clinical Nutrition and Food Services Programs for Western Maryland Hospital Center’s Long Term Care and satellite programs. The incumbent will also provide direction to the Food Services professional staff and coordinates activities with clinical dietitians for optimal nutritional services outcomes for the patients and residents. This position provides Clinical Nutritional support for the WMHC Nursing Home; serves as backup for clinical nutrition support for the WMHC Specialty Hospital in the event of urgent needs; and leads and oversees all aspects of Dietetic and Nutritional Programs for the programs’ objectives. The incumbent guides, organizes, evaluates, and directs the activities of the Dietetic and Nutritional Programs for WMHC and satellite facilities, including ensuring fiscal accountability. This position communicates dietetic and nutritional objectives, accomplishments, and needs in relationship to patients/residents, and holds responsibility for PEP evaluations for direct reports, and ensures policies are formulated and implemented for best practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice under the licensing requirements for Nutritionists and Dietitians.
Experience: Five years of experience providing professional nutrition or dietetic services which includes three years in a residential or hospital setting and two years managing a clinical and administrative phase of a dietetic program.
Note: A Master’s degree in the field of dietetics, nutrition, institutional administration or other related field may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.
LICENSES:
1. Candidates for positions in the classification must possess a current license as a Dietitian/Nutritionist from the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice. A copy of the current license MUST be attached to the application.
2. Candidates must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) prior to completion of probationary period and must maintain a current registration during their time of employment. Applicants who are currently registered should submit proof of CDR registration with application.
