SALARY: $27,533 - $42,566 (Grade 9)

DESCRIPTION: This position will serve a dual role for RICA-Baltimore. The primary job responsibility will be to serve as the secretary for Cottage A. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for typing, proofreading and correcting clinical documents; maintaining, filing, and organizing medical records; serving as the cottage timekeeper; answering and screening telephone calls for the clinical and nursing staff; and maintaining all cottage related paperwork, policies and procedures. In addition, the incumbent will serve as a secretary for the school at RICA, specializing in the Individual Education Program (IEP) program. In this role, the incumbent will type IEP related assignments given by the Principal and Assistant Principal with accuracy. This may include, but is not limited to, school correspondence, clinician notes, letters to parents, communications with Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), schedules, reports and related documents. Experience working in a school is preferred but not required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
EXPERIENCE: Two years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:
1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE CLASSIFICATION: Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a typewriter or keyboard on a personal computer, computer terminal or work processor at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
