SALARY: $49,638 - $79,693 (Grade 19)

DESCRIPTION:  A Psychologist II is the full performance level of professional psychology staff work applying the science of psychology to the investigation, understanding and modification of human behavior and adjustment and providing psychological services such as diagnostic assessments, individual and group counseling and psychotherapy to persons considered emotionally disturbed, maladjusted, developmentally disabled or suffering from other psychological stress. Employees in this class do not supervise other psychologists but may supervise non-licensed psychology staff or other health care staff in multi-disciplinary programs.


EDUCATION:  Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the License as a Psychologist.

1.  Candidates must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to appointment to a position in State Service. A copy of the license must be attached to the application MS-100.  

2.  Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle.  Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS: The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
