TITLE: CLINICAL PHARMACIST (0468) CD

SALARY: $49,638 - $79,693(Grade 19)

DESCRIPTION: A Clinical Pharmacist is the advanced level of work in providing clinical services that contribute directly to patient care of a select population and developing and promoting the rationale and appropriate use of medicinal products and devices.   Employees in this classification may give advice and guidance to Pharmacists and non-licensed and licensed medical staff regarding drug interactions and pharmacy procedures to be followed.  Employees in this classification may supervise lower-level Registered Pharmacists and other professional and non-professional staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD).

EXPERIENCE: One year of clinical pharmacy experience as a Registered Pharmacist.

LICENSE:   Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Pharmacist from the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy, 4201 Patterson Avenue , Baltimore , Maryland 21215.  A copy of the license must accompany the application.

NOTES:  
1. Applicants may substitute four additional years of clinical experience as a Registered Pharmacist for the required education.

2. Experience gained during a formal Residency program may be applied to the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE CLASSIFICATION:
1. Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached. 

2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS:  The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
