The Office of Governmental Affairs staff is dedicated to providing dynamic, high quality service and leadership concerning legislative, regulatory, and budgetary issues on behalf of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Allison W. Taylor, Director
Allison W. Taylor is the Director of the Office of Governmental Affairs in the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Prior to joining the Department, Allison worked at the Coalition for Evidence-Based Policy, where she conducted reviews of social science research in matters pertaining to criminal justice, education and health care for senior-level federal officials, foundation leaders and service providers. Allison received her B.A. in Political Science from Davidson College, her Master of Public Policy from Duke University and her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Allison is a member of the Maryland State Bar.
Christi Megna, Assistant Director
A native of Wisconsin, Christi Megna has over 20 years of hands-on experience in legislation and policy analysis. Prior to her current position, she worked with legislative, regulatory and policy development in the area of public health on behalf of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. She was also a senior policy analyst with the Indiana General Assembly under the Legislative Services Agency where she developed expertise in issues involving children, courts, and criminal law. Christi received her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law and served as an associate note editor for the Law Review. Christi is a member of the Maryland and Indiana State Bar.
