The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will send notices to current Medical Care Program recipients on a monthly basis. The first recipients to receive notice are those with a redetermination date during the month of September, 2006. Notices will be mailed to that group at the end of July, 2006.

These notices will alert current recipients to the new federal documentation of citizenship and identity requirement. The notices will also inform the recipient of his or her current documentation status. Recipients will receive one of three letters, depending on which type of document(s) they must provide.
