Welcome to the Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
The Board of Physical Therapy Examiners has been in existence since 1947 to regulate the practice of physical therapy in the State of Maryland. Physical therapist assistants have been licensed in this State since 1972. Board meetings are held every third Tuesday of the month and are open to the public.
Duties of the Board include writing regulations, interpreting the scope of practice, educating licensees, and disciplining those who violate the law. The most important function is protecting the citizens of Maryland.
Important News Updates
Exam Scores and Licensing
Due to fixed testing, it could be up to two weeks after the exam scores are received before you will receive your license. The volume has increased tremendously due to fixed testing.
Fixed test dates for PTs, and PTAs are now posted on our Calendar of Events, along with other important events. Click on the exam date, for registration and approval deadlines, and score report date.
Please DO NOT CALL the Board regarding your ATT.
As noted on the Federation's website "Authorization to Test (ATT) letters are again being made available electronically and are being mailed to candidates on a daily basis. Candidates can check their ATT status by going to https://pt.fsbpt.net and clicking on "Exam Registration" and then “Check the Status of My Request.” Again, these letters are sent by the Federation, not the Board. This link also will allow you to see "Score Received - Passed" or "Score Received - Failed".
