Outpatient Services Programs Stakeholder Workgroup
Senate Bill 882/House Bill 1267 of 2014 requires the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to establish an Outpatient Services Programs Stakeholder Workgroup. Among other things, the workgroup must examine the development and implementation of assisted outpatient treatment programs, assertive community treatment programs, and outpatient service programs in the State; develop a proposal for a program in the State; and evaluate the dangerousness standard for involuntary admissions and emergency evaluations. Moreover, Senate Bill 882/House Bill 1267 requires the proposal to address all of concerns regarding assisted outpatient treatment that were recently identified by the Continuity of Care Advisory Panel in its report to the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene.
The Workgroup will hold its first meeting on May 20, 2014 (1:00-2:30pm) in the basement conference room of the Dix Building at Spring Grove Hospital Center.
At this introductory meeting, we will be discussing the Workgroup’s: (1) mandate and topics for discussion; (2) future meeting schedule; and (3) process for stakeholder comment and participation.
